Blooming in June

Greetings one and all! Hope this finds each one of you well and enjoying your days!
It has been quite awhile since I last posted...I do apologize, but life is really gearing up for me.
I took a short trip to Florida...which has left me forever changed...:) in a very positive way!
I have been studying the Word of God and really pressing into Him more and more. There is such a hunger and thirst for more of Him...cause God is the only one who truly satisfies!
I have been asked to minister at our Women's Fellowship meeting at the end of the month also! God is opening so many doors its amazing!
Yesterday I spent the afternoon in the backyard with our youngest son Stephen, as he was mowing and edging the lawn. I was clipping, trimming, moving and clearing out.
With the cost of gas at nearly 5.00 a gallon in these parts, more than ever we are staying home more and more. So I am really compelled to create a peaceful haven in our yard and patio. Getting lots of ideas from magazines and books I already have and putting my own personal twist on it! I write down the things that I want to achieve and set out to get it done.
I have lots of pots and planters that I haven never thrown away, so I bought some seeds early in the Spring season and potting soil and set out to do some planting. Our daughter Amie and her boyfriend tore out a hodgepodge of overgrown plants in the flowerbed that runs along our fence. They planted tomatoes, green beans, peppers, assorted chili peppers and herbs! The area is being put to great use now instead of a blah area I didn't really enjoy before! The boys also tore down the gazebo that hubby built. By doing this it actually opened up the yard dramatically!
I will share more ideas and photos in the days ahead!!
What are your plans for Father's Day? On Saturday we are going to our friends' home and celebrating their son's graduation, and daughter's birthday plus Father's Day!! Everyone is bringing sides dishes and I'm bringing the dessert! We are going to have a wonderful time...just relaxing with family and friends!
Let's share some ideas about making our yards and patios our peaceful havens during this season....you can include recipes too Lets have some FUN!!! Just put a link on your blog to this post...... Blessings for a peaceful day!

Five dollars...really? I'm complaining about the near $4/gallon here. Guess it could be worse. Looking forward to seeing your ideas and photos especially what your daughter did gardenwise. Blessings to you and yours!

Hi Mindy, I was glad to get a comment from you! =)...I'm kind of sleepy right now but your plans for your backyard sound wonderful. Last summer we did buy a bench that goes the whole way around the tree trunk, I enjoy looking at it and sitting on it. Allergies keep me indoors most of the time I'm afraid. We do have a new patio last summer too but some of the flagstone settles and is a bit crooked now...part of country charm? I enjoyed your post.
