stopping to smell the roses....

Life is coming fast these days! All is well here at my home and hearth...just incredibly fast- paced and busy!

I had been studying to prepare for last Wednesday's service that writing here had taken a back burner so to speak. Thursday morning woke to a scratchy throat and by the end of the day the stuffy nose was along for the ride too!

Needless to say...I was down over the weekend, but felt well enough to go to church on Sunday and then rested the rest of the day.

Today I rested and tidied up the house a little, did some laundry made a pot of homemade chicken and rice soup...just what I needed! Put a little splash of Tabasco...yum!

So much to do in the backyard that the thought overwhelms me. Guess its time for the timer and do a little each day till its done.

We are enjoying extremely cool days here...quite nice after we had record breaking heat in the upper 90's a week ago...love the cool ocean breezes!

My roses are blooming like crazy and picked some for the side table that sits along the sofa and easy chair...they smell heavenly.

What have you been doing with your lovely Spring days? Leave me a comment...as I always love to hear from you!!

Blessings to you always....

Mindy, it was so great to see you had written a post! The color of that rose is absolutely lovely ~ God is quite an amazing artist, isn't he? I can only imagine how heavenly it must smell! Sorry you have been under the weather. A lot of people I know are really suffering with allergies from pollen right now. You timer idea sounds like a good one, just take it slow. Wish I could have joined you for some of that yummy soup!! I recently found out I'm going to be a first time grandmother so I am walking on air right now! Take care, dear friend. Great big hugs, Susan P.

Our spring weather has mostly been rainy and cold but never mind in a month or so I'll be complaining about how hot it is! ;-) I really like that timer idea because my yard needs a lot of attention! Happy Mothers Day to you this weekend!

Its a cool rainy day here Mindy. I have spent a lot of time doing laundry since we got back Wed. from our trip south to be with our daughter and her new baby boy & family. He is adorable...and we could practically see him grow day by day! They are building a new house and it is almost finished. What a shame the finishing up of it and the birth of 'A' happened about the same time! They probably won't move in for a couple of weeks though. Your roses sound like a dream come true. We've got lilacs and iris blooming just now. I haven't been outside much this weekend, but yard work can be overwhelming, or housework for that matter. I always liked the saying that a home was like a person. You have to wash its face..etc. smile. You have a very special Mother's Day! Hope you are feeling all better now.

Hi Mindy, its June 11th already, I can hardly believe it. My allergies are fierce right now...and so is the heat. I hope all is well with you, I see you haven't posted for a while, but life takes so many turns and twists I know. Sending you a smile and a hug, love in Jesus, Maggie Ann
