Thoughts for today....

Greetings!! It has been awhile since my last post. Life is happening around me...which is a wonderful thing!!

I have been going over to my friend's house after prayer the past few days, and praying for her and reading some bible scriptures to her as well. She is such a fighter, and always full of encouragement to us all! This afternoon I took over some homemade Italian Meatball soup for the family and ran upstairs quickly and looked in on her, she smiled sweetly when she saw me...I gave her a quick kiss on the forehead and let her know that soup was on!

I came home and started some laundry...lit some candles throughout the house and put on my Christmas cd's and started taking care of my routines here at my home. It is so grounding to come home and start taking care of the tasks needing to be done. Fixing dinner, folding the clothes and tidying up...such simple things to do, but it calms me.

Tomorrow I will venture out to Sam's Club to purchase a few things. Along with the normal items to purchase...I plan to pick up a bouquet of flowers! Fresh flowers during the Christmas season is a beautiful thing to me...a simple pleasure and one thing I do to pamper myself!

It is such an enjoyable Christmas season for me. Planning early on really helped me greatly. But just deciding to simplify has made a huge difference for me. Here are just a few little simple things to make your Christmas season special:

Cozy lace edged socks to keep your feet warm on a chilly night

Prepare a coffee or tea tray just for you, add a hearty mug or delicate teacup, flavored creamers such as Vanilla, Hazelnut or Almond, perhaps some chai spice tea or Earl Grey, a small plate of your favorite delicacies, a tealight candle and then carry your tray to your favorite corner in your home...a cozy corner looking out to a glorious winter landscape...or a favorite armchair with a view of the Christmas tree...taking time to unwind and savor this wondrous season of celebration of our Savior's birth, as beautiful Christmas caroles play softly in the background.

Hope you enjoyed your visit here, time to stop by and pay you a visit too!!

Abundant blessings to you and your house....

Mindy, It is such a blessing to stop by and check in on how you are doing! So glad things are peaceful there. That is not a word I would use to describe our home at this season of our life! With two teens still at home and our grandson living with us, things are typically hectic! But...that is OK, too. Blessings to you this Christmas!
