Simple Things....

Taking a break from the activities of the day, so sit down have my lunch and relax for a few moments.

Shortly after I woke up this morning and got ready for the day, I took off to the store to get a few things needed for the house, and wanted to get that done before the heat of the day set it.

It has been rather nice temperatures the last week or so. I haven't had to run the A/C at all...thank the Lord, but this weekend they are forecasting it to be in the 100's yet again!

Just a few things left to do before the party on Sunday. I cleaned the carpets yesterday and they really needed them anyway, perfect time to do it and they dried in no time too!

I am fully enjoying my Summer days and nights. Waking early of a summer morning, I come downstairs and open up all the doors, turn on a few fans to get the air moving, and get the coffee started. I will grab my bible and go sit out in the backyard patio and have my devotional time with the Lord, amidst the sights and sounds of nature waking to greet the Creator too! In the evening once its cooled down, a few candles are lit inside and out on the patio, a book or magazine is grabbed up and then settle in to watch the birds at the feeders, and the shadows of the early evening twilight to show up....the breezes come, and causes the windchimes to dance as the winds creates such a pretty sound. This are peaceful times for me.....taking pleasure in the simplest of things....the days beginning and its ending. Something I do not take for granted...I cherish these times...and so grateful for them.

Blessings to you and yours as you enjoy your peaceful times.....

I look forward to when we can turn the A/C off and run our attic fan again but we've had our hottest week yet here and this weekend it's supposed to get up to 110...Yikes! Have a blessed weekend!

Mindy, you are right! I did a Google search and the flower on yesterday's post is indeed "society garlic." Thanks for solving the mystery!

I hope your weather is cooler today than it was yesterday! We've had slightly cooler weather and less humidity here in SC the past few days, but I can't help but look forward to autumn.

Makes me wish we had air conditioning here in the summer too. Seriously the early morning freshness is the best time of the day to meet our God, it sets the tone of our day doesn't it?

Mindy drear,
Feeling a bit like autumn around here. High this weekend is only supposed to be in the low 70's. Hate to see it end, as our winters can be harsh, and the produce is slim pickin!!!

I love how you 'gather your rosebuds while you may'. Its just the sweetest part of living, if we all could simply slow down and enjoy things. Your post lights up that truth in a special way...smile.
