Simple things~

Greetings to you, the start of a new week! Its going to be a busy week for me.
At church we started "Campmeeting" last night and go through till next week! Went to prayer this morning..which was just awesome! We are seeing the prayers being answered, seeing many people being set free and coming to know Jesus as their Lord and Savior!!! Today I'm in the midst of the weekly "Home Blessing", and decided to have some breakfast of fat free vanilla yogurt whole wheat toast with strawberry preserves and cups of hot coffee with vanilla caramel creamer. With all that needs to be attended to, at first I became overwhelmed, then prayed and asked the Lord to again once again, order my steps! I had a very enjoyable weekend. I watched our grandson Nicholas for the most part during the day Saturday, and we played and had some fun together. I can sit and watch him play and never tired of it...just to watch a child figure out how to do this or that, or try to talk to you and then look at you and smile just makes my heart sing! My hubby is feeling much better...thank you for your prayers!! He went back to work last Wednesday. He worked through till Saturday and rested yesterday! On the menu today for dinner is Citrus grilled Chicken, Roasted red potatoes and onions, Vegetable medley, this will be prepared before I go back to the church this evening. Its fairly simple dear son #2 will grill the chicken this afternoon, as its beautiful outside with temperatures in the 60's! The winds are due to start blowing again this evening on through tomorrow. I'm thankful for the sunshine and mild weather right now! I must get back to blessing my home. My prayer for each of you and your family, quiet resting places and a peaceful habitation.
The photos are of a quiet corner in my family room...a simple antique butlers table houses some vintage books, a Fenton vase from my godmother,an antique silver teapot found at a yard sale for 3.00, the cute little turkey salt and pepper shakers were my Mema's, the little plate was part of a child's tea set my mother had a a little girl. Sharing with you, some of the simple little things that I adore, having so much meaning with a precious story attached to each one....enjoy!!

I like how you worded it "a precious story attached to each one." That's how I feel about my treasures in our home. Your planned dinner sounds yummy!

I enjoyed this post very much ;). Isn't it nice when our children reach that age where we can be the 'diners' of a nice feast they prepare?! Oh..and I love coffee with either french vanilla or toasted almond creamer! Mmmmm....your 'quiet corner' is very lovely. Have a blessed day. Eileen @ http://halfwayhome.wordpress.com

I love your quiet corner, that is something that we all need. Like you, many times I feel overwhelmed with duties that need to be attended to and after going to the Lord in prayer my spirit is always refreshed and I feel the Lord leading my steps!

The top picture looks like you have been at my place, Mindy. Why didn't you say hello? We could have share a cuppa! I always say that when I die I will be found buried under books and papers! Beautiful - in your usual style, Mindy. Tell us more about the scripture on the sidebar - what is your take? what does it mean to you at this time in your life?
