Dear Dad~

Its been 9 years since you left to be with the Lord. While I miss you so much, I'm so very thankful that your with Jesus. I miss your smile, those dancing blue eyes, and your hardy laugh! You imparted into me much wisdom, and I'm so very thankful that you were my father. Your safe, whole and restored now and waiting for your loved ones to join you someday. I celebrate not only your home going but your life!!!
My sister and I went to the Veterans cemetery as Dad was a WWII vet. We sat at the grave site and remembered the good times, we prayed a prayer of thanks to the Lord for our father not being in any pain, and that he is with Him!! We took some beautiful flowers and 2 little flags. There was a gentle breeze blowing and the birds were flying about, and just as we finished praying 2 fighter jets flew over! It was awesome and Dad would have loved that! After our time at the cemetary we went to have a very enjoyable lunch at Mimi's Cafe! We went to the christian bookstore and I was able to pick up a few things that I was needing. It was a very enjoyable day and i'm so extremely blessed. No longer is their grief...but peace in knowing that I will see my father again. Enjoy your time with loved ones...for our time here is so short. I wish you all a very restful weekend in your peaceful corner.

Beautiful post and tribute to your Dad, Mindy. He looks in his picture just as you describe him. It is a joy to visit here!

What a beautiful tribute Mindy. And what a handsome pair your parents made!!! It's sometimes hard to believe how fast the time flies when a beloved family member passes and even though the years add up...our memories can still be fresh and lively. Have a lovely, warm-memory day today....Hugs, Eileen....

So Honoring of you Dad. My parents have both gone to be with Jesus as well and now I remember that day as well as the day they were born. Isn't wonderful to have hope?

What precious memories you must have of your dear dad! My own father, I pray, went to be with the Lord nearly a year ago, and my mom, who I KNOW was a believer, nearly 9 years ago. Thank God for the hope we have in Him!

I happened upon your blog and I am so glad I did. My own dad died 1 1/2 years ago and I miss him so. It is encouraging to see someone further down that road and doing so well. I too praise God my dad is in Heaven. Perhaps our dads have met!
May God richly bless you,

It is so comforting to know for sure that loved ones are in heaven and that we will see them again. It is hard to be separated for a time but there is always that hope.
