dreams from the hearth~

Its been such a COLD day here,I m loving it. My sister called and she said the received snow this morning! Tonight its supposed to be a low of 25 degrees! I have some candles lit this evening throughout the kitchen and family room, the fire in the fireplace makes for such warmth and coziness. I purchased a few magazines to read earlier this week, and I've been so busy that I haven't even read them yet. I have put my jammies on and the tea kettle is warming up for a nice cup of peppermint tea. Tonight I will get to read, sit down on the sofa by the warm fire, snuggle with a quilt....and dream. Dream of the things I would love to do to this house. I keep a pretty little journal with lots of clippings and snippets of ideas, in the journal I've sketched some plans, wrote out what I want to do to make this house show more of our personalities and not something straight out a magazine but the essence of who we are...our personal stamp.

But, I will continue to move ahead, planning to do some of these upgrades and changes a little at a time, and always being ever so thankful for our home, and giving God the Glory for it!

Today I went out to do a few errands and stopped at Kohl' s to get my Hubby some new pants for work. The were on sale (yippee!!) and I also found a great throw rug for my kitchen which is in keeping with the French Country theme and it was 50% off! I love candles and burn quite alot of them, so I always peruse the clearance areas in most stores I visit and found some great deals. Today i found 2 that smell wonderful and were 75% off, and a CD called "PROVENCE, A Romantic Jouney", a classical cd with all french composers for $3.17!!

Tomorrow I will rearrange a few things in my kitchen to freshen it up visually! Maybe even paint the inside of one cabinet!!

Well its teatime...and the quilt and quietness are calling to me. I wish you well until I speak with you again....Many blessings to you and your loved ones....
To accomplish great things, we must dream as well as act.~ Anatole France

Aahh...when my life 'calms down' (sick little...little sleep!) I aim to create a similar evening....

I have GOT to tame that jealous streak that pops up on occasion...like over your newest CD, "Provence"!
As for me, the changes we will likely make around here will be getting some new living room furniture. We have a VERY old sofa and chair, made of a dark green mohair. Scratchy...but, oh so sweet! Maybe I should just have it re-covered???

Oh the joys of being able to go to KOHLS...I so miss that store...You would think that SAvannah would have one...but oh no!! I have even written several times but cannot get one here. We had one where we moved from and I simply LOVED the sales!! Have a great quiet weekend.

Sounds like you have a lovely time planned in front of a cozy fireplace. I am not use to the chill in Ohio but the fireplace makes a wonderful place to warm up. I do think a cup of tea will also help. Hugs to you and your homr is lovely my friend.

Oh Mindy, your evening sounds so wonderfully cozy. Some tea, a beautiful fire and something good to read, it doesn't get much better than that:) BTW, I am a Kohls lover, too! They have excellent sales and wonderful merchandise. Your French Country rug sounds so pretty:)

Hi Mindy! Yes! a cup of tea while enjoying an inviting and cozy fire sounds so relaxing! My oldest daughter lives in California too and said it was really cold this morning also. Love your white creamer and beautiful doilie. It will look lovely filled with flowers! Is that a Fenton hobnail vase I see on your stack of books?
I hope your Mom is improving and I'll continue to keep her in prayer. I'm going to get myself that cup of tea...sweet dreams!!
