look at all the pretty lights....

This is a home that is just up the hill from us...the Christmas light display was just so gorgeous that I had to take a picture of it!
I was up very early this morning! The coffee has been made with some vanilla chai spice creamer, and while I've written down in my household journal, what I need to do today, I'm taking my time getting the day going...enjoying the morning as it comes along..the sun is up, the sky is blue and the air is crisp and cold! We are expecting rain this weekend!! We will be going out after services on Sunday to get some Christmas shopping done!
I'm working in my kitchen this week, doing some detail cleaning in preparation for the family Christmas party on the 16th. We always has such a wonderful time when the family comes to celebrate....hubby gets a fire going in the wood stoves out back as well as a fire going in the fireplace in the family room...lots of food, and everyone just enjoying being together!
Today I'm resting in the Lord..and maintaining my peace in spite of the things that may be going on around me...For He comforts and sustains me...I have found a scripture that I will stand on today and declare...."I have set the Lord always before me. Because He is at my right hand, I will not be shaken." Psalm 16:8 May you be blessed in your comings and goings and His hand of protection be upon you and your house. Continued blessings this Christmas season....

Hi Mindy, Its nice to come visting you and find a sister in Jesus. How wonderful to have the peace of God in our hearts that only comes from feeding on the Word, on Christ. Christmas is fast approaching, isn't it! My decorating is done and believe it or not...grin, I'm going to paint our bedroom next week if I get brave enough. A bold color too...smile. I'm a little weak in the knees about it, but also ready for adventure. A re-decorated bedroom would be a fine Christmas gift to carry over into the New Year, don't you think so? Your Christmas party sounds wonderful...cozy, warm, lots of food and loved ones...enjoy for me too. We have a very small family..=).

Your upcoming party sounds wonderful.
I agree, it's so important to slow down in the midst of all the holiday preparations~thanks for the lovely reminder.
