Musings from my day...

Finally....I'm feeling better! Still have a cough, and stuffy nose, but over all doing quite well! Have had quite a few people praying for me and I'm truly thankful! Still using wisdom and taking it easy and not doing alot. I have managed to keep the home tidy and cleaned up, but did the minimum this week.
We had some delightful rain last night...even some thunder and lightening..it was such a lovely change, I enjoyed it immensely!!! The cooler temperatures are a wonderful change of pace too. For today i ventured out to the base commissary. Its about 30 minutes from our home, and the drive there was great, clouds and scattered showers about, I had some beautiful praise and worship music, and just started thanking the Lord for the day and found myself praying for others and the needs of loved ones as well as myself....these times with the Lord are some tender and precious to me.Before I knew it, I was at the store and grabbed my list and off I went. It was such a pleasure to leisurely walk the aisles, looking at products and just taking my time.
My daughter made dinner for us tonight...Homemade Macaroni and Cheese, with Chicken...she used Gruyere cheese as well as medium cheddar, made a delicious sauce!! It was the perfect meal for today, hearty and filling!
Tomorrow we are going to the mountains to pick some pumpkins and apples!! This is a family tradition, and will be the first time we take out grandson!! We will meet for a big breakfast then on the road we go...should be back in the afternoon just in time for the evening service at church!!! I plan on taking lots of pictures and will be sharing them with you too!
What traditions do you have for your family at this beautiful time of year? I would love to hear all about them!
Blessings to each of you as you nurture yourself in the Word of God, care for your loved ones, and look to the ways of your home!!

There is a harmony in Autumn, and a lustre in its sky, Which through the summer is not heard or seen, As if it could not be, as if it had not been !

Before we moved South we had traditions in the Fall. We would go with our grandkids to the Apple Barn in Illinois and get pumpkins or apples and just have a good day drinking apple cider or just walking in the cool air. But now here in South East Ga everything is different. No Pumpkins, no apple trees. I do miss Fall a lot. I know we could go up into the mountains but it is a long trip for us.
I hope that you get to feeling better. You are doing the right things though. Green tea is excellent. Sandy

SO very glad you are feeling somewhat better! The cooler weather we have been getting certainly makes one hunger for heartier meals. Here, too, we have been getting much cooler than average temps, and I have been getting out the crock pot for some stick to your ribs kind of cooking!

I'm so glad to hear you are feeling better! We got some rain yesterday and it was wonderful. The dinner your daughter made sounds so good! I love homemade macaroni and cheese!
Have fun up in the mountains tomorrow. I hope you find some great pumpkins and apples.
