Corners of my Home....

This little birdhouse I purchased at Joann's a few months back for a whopping 3.00!! Its hanging from the birch tree in the yard...along with the bird feeder and a few other houses keeping it company. It makes for a shady spot to relax in my vintage metal chairs, and sip some iced tea, and watch the birds.
My backyard has been somewhat neglected, and must be tidied up a bit. Since the last bout of flu that I had a few months ago...its been difficult for me to regain the strength and stamina needed, to do these extra jobs that I had been doing prior to the illness. I have prayed for strength and I believe that everyday i'm regaining it!! Praise the Lord!

Today was spent running some errands and getting my hair cut!! After that was dome I paid a bill or 2 and drove over to Wal-mart and did some shopping. I'm not one who normally buys the newest and latest items on the market...but today I had to purchase some laundry detergent and fabric softener...I usually get Lavender Vanilla Downey, but no not today..I purchase the Rose and Violet...its smells sooo decadent!! I would love to learn how to make my own detergent, but until then...this smells so lovely! Its the little things in life for me!!

Right now its quiet in the house...Hubby is sleeping upstairs, dear Daughter is spending the night with Grandma and her Aunt....dear Son is taking his girlfriend to dinner once he gets his pay check....I am sipping on some Blueberry Ice tea, and munching on some trail mix...some candles are lit and i'm enjoying the peace that comes at the end of another day. Blessings to you.....

It all sounds good to me. I would love some time like that and I think I need to take some time like that soon. I have been exhausted this week with planning this neighborhood ladies party for this morning here at my home. I am so tired and so rushed that I need to SLOW DOWN!! Today is going to be FULL once again...GUESS what I am retired!! funny!! Have a great weekend Mindy

Mindy, I LOVE your vintage chairs. I remember my grandparents had some just like them:) The bird house is adorable and a great price, too! Hmm, I think I will have to try that new fabric softener, I love "decadent!!"

Your chairs are so pretty painted that lovely shade of green. I have a pair, too, from my husband's mom, that my daughter painted white and then painted flowers on. Aren't they just the most comfortable, relaxing, outside chairs?? The picture is a very lovely setting!

I am envious of the quiet time and would love nothing better than to spend it in those great green chairs! BTW, who says you don't have stamina...you survived Walmart -- THAT, my dear, takes stamina!!!!

Just last month i made my own laundry detergent! Got the info on the web. It turned out fine, and I have been using it daily. I would say it does not clean as well as Cheer or Tide, but I can live with that. I think it cost me around $3 for a 5 gallon bucket full.
LOVE the vintage metal chairs. I have several of those myself!

You bring such a calm to my spirit.
I may exchange the blueberry tea for red wine, but oh well.
It's a porch night for us tonight. . .soon the evenings get chilly and then the leaves fall and then.. . never mind
