oh joy!!

I found the nicest surprise on the front porch this morning...it was my book order!!! I purchased 2 new books..The Hidden Art of Homemaking" by Edith Schaeffer and "Biblical Womanhood in the Home" by Nancy Leigh DeMoss. I have already started reading the first one...and looking forward to delving into it further. I have quite a few "homemaking " books that i've purchased over the years..they have encouraged me to no end.
This day has been quite a relaxing day. I puttered about the home this morning getting my morning routines done before the heat of the day hit. This has been a goal since the summer started and so far so good!
I purchased an old needlepoint rug at a yard sale some time ago, and the back is falling apart, so I thought of having my Hubby make a wood frame for me and mount it as a picture, get some glass to protect it and hang it up! I couldn't use it as a rug as its just too fragile for that, but wall art would definitely work!
This heat seems to be relentless...this weekend is supposed to surpass 107!! Yikes! Our son called and asked us to watch our grandson this Saturday...We bought a little pool for him earlier in the season, so the Lil One gets to enjoy a pool at Grandma and Grandpa's house!
Well i'm off to read my book and have a cup of hot tea. Enjoy this Summer evening.....blessings...

Aaaah books - I love them! I rarely buy fiction to read - I like the ones that teach me something new, or give me ideas on how to do something old in a new way :)
It's funny to think of it being so hot there - it's pretty cold here, we have the fire going every morning and night! The days are lovely and sunny, just not very warm...
Hugs xx

You'll have to post a picture of the needlepoint when you get it framed. I'm trying to survive the heat too!

Oh, I really enjoy Nancy DeMoss. A couple of years ago I did a study with my Women's Group of her book "Lies Women Believe: And the Truth that Sets Them Free" and it was a powerful study. It was very deep but caused me to grow and stretch out of "my box" LOL.

I will have to look for the other one you mentioned. I find reading about homemaking keeps me inspired and feeling positive about my job!

Love your Blog!

I have the Edith Schaeffer book. I am enjoying it. In fact, I have joined the Antiqui-tea Society forum to discuss it. http://the-sparrows-nest.blogspot.com/

I have never read the other book. I will keep checking back to see how you liked it.
Have a blessed day.
