corner of my home~

In my kitchen corner sits this little vintage breadbox! I picked it up at a yard sale for a song..and thought is was so cute! I use it to store some paperwork that if ever needed in a hurry, it is right there handy. Next to that is a glass candy jar that my best friend gave with me sometime ago, filled tothe brim with homemade Snicker bars (yum) as a Christmas gift. So I decided to use it to hold pens, pencils, markers and the like. On the wall is my husbands favorite plate from his home state of Oklahoma. I have quite a few plates but not alot of wall space in which to display them...So I change them out at times to give this little space a new look. We will eventually purchase new cabinets, but until then, they will be painted with a glazing technique, so they will look like cabinets in an old French Country kitchen!!!

Love your bread box! I, too, found one at a yard sale (love yard sales, too...), but mine is just a single tier kind, probably from the same era though as yours. Aren't they fun? They bring a smile and a whole other feeling--and older feeling--to the kitchen. Blessings, Debra

Oh, the breadbox is so adorable! My 8 year old just walked into the room while this picture was up and said, "oooh, pretty box." :0)

I like the uses you've found for your breadbox and for the candy jar. Good thinkin'!
