Happy Friday~

Just came home from running a few errands and goodness its hot outside! Got my car washed, and went to the market. Purchased some goodies for dinner. It will be a very simple feast: Assorted meats and cheeses, crusty loaf of whole grain bread, real cold, crispy pickles, iced cold watermelon, ripe strawberries, juicy cherries, red seedless grapes and a big tossed salad with Fresh Brewed Blueberry Iced Herbal tea.....arrange all the food items on a chilled platter and then fix the salad, and dinner is done!!! When its too warm to cook, of course we use the BBq grill and the crock pot, but at times this food is quite heavy and we eat lighter this time of year. I went a exercised as well, and I always feel so much better once that is done, revitalized!!! I did have plans on rearranging the living room today, but may have to postpone that until this evening sometime. I'm off to get the home in order before the weekend fun begins! Blessings to you...xo "Out of the strain of Doing, ino the peace of the Done" ~ Julia Louise Woodruff, "Harvest Home", in Sunday at Home (1910)

What a great quote you have there. Your meal sounds like one of the best ever...=). And, your nostalgic picture reminds me of friends we had long long ago, when I was just a little girl. They had placed barrels at the corners of thier roof to catch the rain water. They used the rain water to wash thier hair! Oh that was a sweet summer that I stayed with them for a few weeks. Waking up in the country...looking out the little bedroom window into a cherry tree loaded with fruit and sunshine. You've brought back a great memory for me with your post and picture. This lady always kept Hershey bars in her fridge for Sunday afternoons. A quick meal she made was browned ground meat stirred into split pea soup over toast. It doesn't sound that great now, but when I was about 8 years old I thought every thing Ellen did was just about perfection. Grin..

Your Friday sounds wonderful and your dinner delicious!
I always feel so relaxed when I read your blog and look at your pictures. The sunflower wreath on the green chair is such a nice idea to welcome neighbors!
