keeping of the house~

Monday brings not only the start of the new week, but the weekly home blessing. I'm taking a break right now. I have already mopped my floors and after that I will vaucuum and dust, then upstairs to do the same. This week i'm working in my master bedroom....starting at the top and working my way down. I also plan of editing some things out of the room and bringing other accessories in, just to freshen the room a bit...just placing some fresh flowers in a pretty vase brings the room to life! Its been a rainy day here and I have the windows and doors open to air out the house...and the rain smells delightful....i'm so enjoying this break in the heat. I've made some homemade vegetable soup using what I had already. Made some homemade chicken salad with dried cranberries, celery, onion, sliced almonds, grey poupon, mayo and fresh groud pepper! WE will be having chicken salad wraps along side the soup for dinner. Its so easy to put together too! Just looked outside and its starting to rain again...just a gentle steady rain...but they say we are due for possibly thunderstorm this afternoon...love the rumble of thunder!!! Have some candles lit and just making a choice to celebrate those tasks that at times may seem very mundane to some but are so very important to the function and appearence of our homes. I am so very thankful to the Lord for blessing us with this home. We have done alot to make it ours, and personalize it, from the exterior to the interior...have much to still do, but we just take our time and do what needs to be done, here a little and there a little. As long as we have a home something will always need to be done!!! Its not a chore for me, its a blessing, even mopping or scrubbing...Its how I look at it...that we have been given this to be good stewards over it...overseers...and how we manage out time is vitally important! Asking the Lord every morning to order my steps in the day He has given me...sets the pace. I accomplish much when I choose to have Him order my day...even the best layed plans somehow come up short...been there and done that too!!! Wishing one and all a most productive day in all you put your hand to!!! Blessings...xo "The best things in life are nearest: Breath in your nostrils, light in your eyes, flowers at your feet, duties at your hand, the path of right just before you. Then do not grasp at the stars, but do life's plain, common work as it comes, certain that daily duties and daily bread are the sweetest things in life". ~Robert Louis Stevenson

Your home sounds lovely and the menu delicious! I so needed to hear this right now. I have been grouchy about not having time to do everything I want and haven't been enjoying the things I do get done. I will take your advice and ask the Lord to help me throughout the day.
Thank you for sharing!
