thoughts of keeping house

Good Afternoon!

Its been a busy week so far for me. Dear Hubby was home sick for 2 days, with bronchitis as well, but after 2 days of antibiotics he is back at work, and I believe feeling better!

I went to prayer this morning, it was wonderful! Feel very fortunate to be called to pray and stand in the gap for others! Its such a blessing to see how God is moving throughout peoples lives and changing hearts!

For dinner tonight its Spaghetti, Salad, and Foccacia Bread! The sauce is in the crock pot and the bread is rising right now. I have to do some basic housekeeping as well: vacuum, dust and bring a few areas to some order, and of course laundry to be done as well. At times in the years past, I felt that "housework" was a ugly word. Now I'm so grateful that I'm able to keep house and take care of what the Lord has indeed blessed us with. Its being a good steward over our homes. Polishing, cleaning, de-cluttering, washing, fixing and arranging are part of this. It is so important to me...being a good and faithful steward over ALL that God has blessed me with. So when I was shown this a few years ago..the lightbulb went off in my head....Oh I get it Lord...I see what your saying...How can you entrust us with much if we can't take care of the little things! So I purposed in my heart to take care of my home and all that entails and do it with a happy heart and a right spirit and do this as doing unto the Lord. Do I have days that I would rather not do a thing...truthfully yes, but then I'm reminded very gentle by the Holy Spirit, do all as unto the Lord. So when I say that I'm thankful that I have a home to keep, I truly am...The Lord is with me here in my heart and in my home and I give him the praise due Him in all I do. I pray abundant blessings to each of you and your home!!

"Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving." Colossians 3:23-24

You have to be the coziest person! Thanks for the treat of allowing me to look into your days. You do have a way of causing us to appreciate the simple things. Thanks for that!

And I'm so grateful that the sickness is at bay, finally. My goodness, you both have had a time, haven't you.

Take care.

I DO love to have a clean home...not especially crazy about the process, tho. BUT...I am thankful for the servants I have...my vacuum, my bread machine, my oven and fridge...all blessings to make my life easier!

Everytime I'm tempted to complain...I start thanking the Father for my health AND the ablilty to clean and nurture my family with good cooking and taking care of a home.

Dear Mindy, What you have said is right and true! I have many responsibilities. Most of the time, doing my housework is the last thing I want to do, so I often do not do it with a happy heart. I just want to get it over with. I am so thankful to the Lord for who He is, and He has been very good and merciful to me and my family. So, I am thankful to you for reminding me today of Col. 3:23-24!
Glad to hear your husband is feeling better!

and to "know" you are blessed ... now that is a good attitude of the heart ... many have so much, and all they can think of is "i want more ... " ... :o( ... no wonder there are so many disgruntled souls walking around ...
