Blustery cold days....

Its been such a cold windy day today. I ran a few errands and the windy almost blew me off the road a few times! I went to the thrift store today and didn't find anything, but then went to our quaint "Old Town" area to a darling little cottage that has been turned into a antique shop! I enjoyed wandering thru and looking at all the vintage cookbooks, silver, china and linens among other things. I purchased a white antique linen doily and a mini creamware pitcher (photos to come tomorrow). I have already put the doily to use in my room on the bedside table. I had found a vintage damask tablecloth at a yard sale, and it was stained, so I used that to drape of my nightstand and topped it with the doily...looks so pretty! On my way home I stopped off at the grocery store and purchased chickens that were on sale (stocked up) and then went into the local florist to treat myself to a pretty flower. Its to early for hyacinths, so I bought a single tuberose...so lovely and fragrant too! Put it in a hobnail vase and set it on my nightstand...what fun to wake to such a wonderful scent! Tomorrow I plan on going out early to a few yard sales....then finishing up on rearranging the china cabinet, laundry, decluttering the cabinet in the garage, and generally bringing some order to the house. Closets needs to be attended to, as well as the garage, and the latter will take some time!!! For tonight, I have a fire in the fireplace, some cookies out from the oven, and sipping on some hot peppermint tea. My reading awaits me...keep cozy!!!

I so love the sound of your relaxing evenings! Sounds like you had an enjoyable day with some great finds!
In answer to your question I may replace the graniteware with Blue Ridge dishes. I have quite a collection and may sell it this year, as I haven’t the space I used to have. Anyway, just want to enjoy it for awhile before I make the final decision. Have a wonderful day!

Hmm...I thought that I had posted a comment but maybe it didn't go through!
It was cold and windy wasn't it?
I almost got blown off the road taking my children to school.
Your linens sound lovely!
I can't wait for some time to peruse some of the thrift shops in the next town over...
I don't have much luck finding things though but maybe I will!
Wishing you a wonderful week!
