Thursday musings~

This week has been very fruitful! I have accomplished alot, but still have much to do. As I mentioned in my last post, our daughter is celebrating her birthday this Saturday, so she will have some of her friends here, and we will be serving some simple hor 'dourves, as well as birthday cake. We will be taking a trip over to Sam's Club tomorrow to get everything we need. It will be a great time for everyone. She will be helping me get the house ready, although its be cleaned this week, just going back over and tidying up a bit is all that will be needed.

I have been fighting so much fatigue and pain for the past few weeks, but I have been purposeful in moving forward. The enemy wants to take my joy and peace, especially this time of year, but I WILL NOT allow this to happen. I refuse to stay in bed and do nothing because I hurt to much!

When this happens, I pace myself, make a list writing down everything that needs to be done for that day, and try to accomplish it, if not it goes to the next day (if possible) and just prioritize my time and the day. I have felt the leading of the Lord many times the past few weeks, directing me here and there. I am so very thankful for His presence in my life.

I went to Kohl's yesterday and purchased a few things all on sale! Yippee! love the sale racks! A few t-shirts to layer under blouses and sweaters, and 2 dressier blouses too! It was sure crowded as shoppers we getting a jump start on holiday shopping. I haven't bought one gift yet, and need to sit down with hubby to plan what we will be doing for our kids and set the budget.

In spite of 80 degree temperatures this week, I continue to light my Autumn candles in the daytime, just to celebrate the day and the season. Who says candles must be lit in the evening only!! Refilled my little pot on the stove with spices: nutmeg, cloves, cinnamon and some orange peel from this morning). Fluffed the cranberry colored chenille pillows on the sofa in the family room, draped the old rose cottage quilt over the back, opened the doors and windows to let the breeze in. Its a typical fall morning here....cool in the shade of the patio and porch, and warm in the sunshine. The coffee pot is full of hazelnut coffee from Trader Joes, and its time for breakfast: yogurt, and whole wheat toast.

Its a late morning start for me, but time to get moving! I wish you a wonderful day and hope your able to get outside and enjoy the Autumn season if your weather permits, gather some pinecones, leaves and mosses perhaps for a pretty tablescape to greet your family and guests. God's blessings to you and your household....

Psalm 63:7-8 "Because you are my help, I sing in the shadow of your wings, O Lord. My soul clings to you; your right hand upholds me."

Mindy, what kind of pain are you bothered with? I am not being nosey I just know that I have a lot and have had it for years. I finally found a small way to get rid of some of it. I have been going to curves now for about 18 months and it has helped me a lot. I think that the stretching is doing me the most good. I have sciatia pain in my hips, and legs to the point where I was unable to stand, sit or walk. Now I am able to do all of the above without much pain at all. I have learned to live through a lot of pain and know that if I were not a Christian I could not endure it all. sandy

I like the verse in your post today. The Psalms are so comforting. Blessings to you!
