May Day!!!

This, the first day of May brings back memories of a time when my younger sister and I received a small bouquet of cut roses in a small basket. The door bell rang and when we got to the door...left on the step were to small bouquets in handmade paper baskets! What a treat that was...it was a tradition years ago...i'm not certain that this in still done...but what a wonderful surprise bestowed to us by my parents friends.
I went to the doctor today.. All is well...just the yearly check up...the Doctor is proud of me for changing my lifestyle....eating better, losing weight and exercising...she can see the difference and not only on the scale! It was over 80 degrees here today, wonderful spring weather. The drive to the doctor was just breathtaking, green hills and lots of poppies, with a sprinkling of purple statice and lupine!! The beach air was invigorating, but then it was time to go home. Stopped and picked up some Greek Chicken...yummy stuff!
Tomorrow I will start to watch my grandson again....I look forward to spending time with the little one. He is getting so big, and he will be 1 year old in July! Its hard to believe this...the time has gone by so quickly.
Went to church yesterday...it was such a great service...what a blessing! Afterwards I went to a shoe store and bought some strappy sandals for church... a black wedge type, and some leather slip-ons...very comfy! My daughter was out and about shopping yesterday and she purchased a 3 tiered denim skirt for me also!!! I tried it on today and it fits!!! Looks great on...and I can see the effects of exercise and dieting...wearing 2 sizes smaller!!! Yippee! I'm not done yet with losing weight, and this is a permanent change for me...I feel better for doing it in every aspect of my life. Time for me to water the backyard, and sit outside and listen to the frogs in the stream...enjoy your evening..blessings one and all!

I have to say that I love the verse at the bottom of your post Mindy! Reminds me that God is always there for us through thick and thin.

Sounds great grandma!! My oldest is going to be 17 on the 17th of the month (see blog). She is growing up so fast. My youngest grandson is 5!! They are all so special. You live in the beautiful state where our son lives. Gorgeous weather there!! I too have been losing weight and feel so great because of it. Self esteem is also a great new thing for me. I go to curves and also just watch what I eat. Good for you keep it up!!!
