saturday happenings....

A day spent in the garden is a day well spent in my opinion. After working out this morning and running to the market for some household necessities, I changed into my garden grubs and got down to the tasks at hand. Fertilized and weeded some more...that is a on going thing in the garden, but the work it worth it when the roses bloom and the flowers seeds sprout through the ground. Moved some outdoor furniture to other places in the yard, and just puttered about. The sun was shining and it was a splendid day to work outside. I'm rather tired this evening, but feel as if I accomplished what I set out to do. Tomorrow I will go to church in the morning, finish up on the laundry, then get the ribs ready to pu t on the grill and have an early dinner with my kids. It seems that quite a few of my blogging friends are taking breaks, I understand the need to do this all to well. I haven't been blogging long, but there comes a time when we must take a break and step away to get re-focused and re-centered. I wish you rest, refreshment, and renewal and pray they will be back soon...much love to you all who are taking a deep breath. God Bless.....xo

Mindy, I have always loved gardening, but now that I am getting older I cannot do it like I want too. Every Spring I get the "urge". I want to PLANT something, dig something or just work in the dirt, but I know that I will hurt. This year we did plant some perinnals. That way hopefully they will come up year after year!! I love flowers!! Have fun!!
You always have the nicest pictures on your post

It's amazing the difference a little time spent in the garden each day can make. It's well worth the effort - not only for the aesthetic rewards, but for the rewards to health that exercise ,fresh air and sunshine bring!

I love being in my garden too. Stepping back and looking at a border just weeded then watered is such a brilliant feeling. I hope you will enjoy your blogging holiday, you'll be missed but I know how you feel. I only started mine in April and its wearing me out already, the trouble is its so much fun I don't want to stop!!!
