its raining, its pouring......

I wanted to include this rose photo today just to give me a lift!! Its raining again...I know I should be happy that its raining, and I am...but still a part of me longs for some sunny skies...my daughter took this picture of the first rose blooming in the garden! Its so fragrant too...smells lovely. Yesterday i thought i would tidy up my links and whatnot...but what did I do?? I ended up deleting my favorite blogs....urghh!! I had to go back and add them again....still adding them too...the pain of the delete key hits me once again!!! I have been working this past week on some deep detailed cleaning of the living and family rooms'...moved furniture and did it all short of cleaning the windows! Rearranged the furniture placement...looks quite nice if I do say so myself. Have some projects lined up to do...make some valances for my bedroom with some of the scrap fabric I purchased at last weeks yard sale.....work on the back patio again...rearraging and what not. I bought a beautiful freesia plant...its a vivid purple and smells heavenly, so I must find the perfect spot for that too. I'm at my best when i have projects to do...every night before i go to sleep..I write out what I must do for the next day...if those things aren't finished then I transfer them to the next in order of priority...this is what i've been doing for sometime. I have the need to be a good steward with the time i've been given...this is vital for me...i can take a look back at weeks end and see what i've accomplished! i don't watch alot of television..not until evening...so this frees my up my time to do what i believe i'm supposed to be doing...keeping my home! i have wrestled with the computer time as well...I try to create balance for myself....when I 'm balanced and my life has been prioritized thats where I find my peace....does this always happen...of course not....but I KNOW when i'm out of balance, the fatigue creeps in, pain increases in my body, more emotional, etc...then i have to take a step back...check myself and get quiet and ask.."ok..what's up here...why am I feeling like this?" the answer always comes, "rest and breathe"....."slow down"....As women we are always going a million miles an hour taking care of our family, shopping, bills and appointments...and i know i've left some things out...so today I have decided that its a "Mindy" day....baby grandson is here today, and we are going on a day trip to visit his great grandma (my mom). I will be going with my daughter as she will drive and i'm going to enjoy the trip...stop and get some good coffee and a scone, and spend time with my family! Make your day today if you can....a "YOU" day...do something just for you...a walk by yourself or a loved one, a beautiful hyacinth from the florist, a new lotion that smells fantastic, a candle lit in solitude...and let the guilt go and feel free to nurture yourself and make this a habit...to celebrate YOU!! Blessings to you all this weekend...enjoy your day..xo

mm I love the way roses smell, pity I've never had much luck with them. Yours looks beautiful though.

Wonderful post with great advice. I have been reading your posts but have not left any comments. I come by way of lazy daisy. She is a personal friend of mine. She is a hoot!! We all need to slow down and enjoy the wonderful things around us. We may not have the time someday and we need to enjoy them. Thanks for reminding me...Sandy

Your rose is exquisite! If we could only smell it too...smile. Isn't it the truth, the work never ends, sometimes we just have to step back and decide to have 'me' time.
