good friday....

Its been a few days since i've posted...I didn't do this on purpose, it seems to have worked out that way. Been a busy week here at the homestead. I have worked in my home, made some valances with the scrap fabric I purchased at a yard sale...feel quite proud of my self about that, as I'm not a sewer at all!! But have a few finishing touches on them, then they will be ready to hang in my room. Been feeling a quart low this week too...not sure why, just not alot of energy, but now feel as if i'm on the mend from that. We are expecting rain today, but the sun is shining so gloriously right now its rather hard to believe that rain is due! The seedlings that I have planted..some are starting to push there the earth, i'm thrilled that! My plans for today are to putter about the house (as always), do some laundry, clean out my linen closet, and get my hair cut this afternoon. Nothing like a fresh cut to put a kick in your step!! I always take time on Good Friday to read my bible in the book of Matthew about Jesus' death and resurrection...I take this time and meditate on the Word of God and what He did for me on the cross. Its a very solemn time...this is my time with Him...and its very important to me...just a few hours out of my day to give back to Him for all He has done and continues to do for me..its a quiet time, and I light a candle, make a cup of tea, put on some soothing violin music...and just read His word...I always come away so very grateful, thankful and incredibly humbled. Tomorrow I am going to my best friends' home and we are going antiqing! We always have such fun times together....we don't have to go and do anything, and still have fun!! Enjoy the day..enjoy the season! Easter blessings to each and everyone of you...my dear friends!!! Much love..xo

Happy Easter to you!! I am waiting for my husband to come home so that we can go to our Good Friday service. I just love this solemn service. Sandy

Thanky you for dropping by, Mindy. It always amazes me that around about 3pm on Good Friday afternoon how quiet and still the earth around me seems to go. I know that Australia is a predominantly secular society. I know that there are people around just using Friday as a social time and are with friends and a beer in their hand. The day is usually quiet but I don't believe I imagine that stillness and quietness around 3pm. It occurred to me as I experienced the stillness yesterday that it is probably a gift and sign of the presence of the Holy Spirit in the world. Thanks be.

Because we in Australia are ahead of you in time - we are now in the emptiness phase of Easter Eve. The time between death and burial when we think upon the horror of Friday and wonder what happens now and next. The curtain has torn asunder. All has died with Him. We are in the grave with the Beloved.

Have a blessed Easter. He is risen, he is risen indeed.

Blessings and bliss
