Taking a break from the day!

Enjoying my day!! My grandson is here. He received shots yesterday, and he is doing better today it seems. He is a funny little fellow, he makes me laugh!! His smile just melts my heart!!!They named him Nicholas, our son's middle name. He is 6 months old now and growing so quickly. He and I sat outside in the "Secret Garden" earlier this week, and I watched him look at the leaves ruffling in the breeze, he even sucked in his breath as the breeze came, he was in utter amazement by what he was seeing! He is such a joy!!!
It seems that we as adults should slow down enough from the lives we lead to be able to sit and just listen to the wind or watch the birds in our yard. Those little things to me are priceless, literally taking time to smell the roses.
Since i've been at home and no longer working, I realized just how much I must slow down, never thought I was going at the pace that I was until, it came to an abrupt halt! I was made to slow down, chronic illness manifested itself, then I HAD to take time to stop, and prioritize!! Take time for me, nurture myself..this is so important as women. If we go, go , go and don't stop, what do we have left for our families?? I know have more balance in my life than ever before, my life is full and abundant!!! But it took me going through the fire and complete reliance on the Lord to be restored and refreshed in a way I never had before. Lets take time to take care of ourselves, rest so we can be replenished and be more effective in every area of our lives.
"Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; and uphold me with thy free spirit."

Yes agree with you there, we all do need to slow down and take some special time out for ourselves. I think that if we do'nt then we can't possibly take care of others either.

Love the photo of your grandson! Taking time for ourselves and stopping to smell the roses so to speak is something we all need to do. God has blessed us with so much and we need to stop and enjoy those blessings.

I enjoyed your post Mindy...full of good sense and good thoughts. I hope your health is stabilized now. That little grandson of yours is adorable. Our grandson is 2 years old and he is funny and adorable and all those other things rolled up in one handsome little man too. Too bad he is in another state. His Nana and Poppa miss him. I love the idea of your secret garden...and isn't balance important! I have a very hard time switching gears if you know what I mean. When I'm sewing, I don't want to quit etc. Hope you are having a peach of a day my new friend......smile.
